Leaking shower & regrout specialists

Frequently asked questions

Signs include damp carpets, bubbling paint, missing or mouldy grout/silicone, discoloured tiles, swollen door frames, jamming doors, buckled floors, and water stains on ceilings below bathrooms.
The most common cause is porous cement-based grout, which allows water to seep through over time. Building movement is another major factor, as it causes cracks and deterioration in grout and tiles, which can compromise the waterproof membrane beneath the surface.
If your shower has been regrouted, then it needs 24 hours to set. If only silicone was applied, then it can be used in 16 hours.
Solid brick walls can take up to 18 months to dry out depending on how much moisture has built up over time. A skilled Bathroom Surgeon technician can tell you how long to wait before doing any repairs during our initial leak detection quote.
In the majority of cases, removing tiles is not necessary unless your existing tiles are either loose or drummy.
